Goldman Sachs to Acquire Innovator Capital in $2B ETF Market Push
Goldman Sachs announced a $2 billion cash-and-stock acquisition of Innovator Capital Management, marking a strategic expansion into the booming active ETF market. The deal, expected to close in Q2 2026 pending approvals, grants Goldman access to Innovator's $28 billion portfolio across 159 defined outcome ETFs.
The active ETF sector has surged to $1.6 trillion in assets since 2020, growing at a 47% annualized rate. "This acquisition positions us at the forefront of the most dynamic segment in asset management," said Goldman CEO David Solomon, highlighting Innovator's specialized strategies as complementary to the firm's existing infrastructure.
